Bassett, Elias - First caretaker of the campgrounds.

 

Bradley, J.A. – Was remembered for, walking the camp calling "Get Your Oil".

  

Bridges, G.N. – Drove many a tent stakes to set up camp.

Cline, W.O. – Original member, chairman of the search committee to find a location suitable for the camp. Was the first Brown City Camp chairman and served on the committee that selected the camp location.

 

Dean, R.D. – Died on the campgrounds while sleeping.

Eastman, O.P. – A builder before he entered the ministry, he was the designer and in charge of construction of the Brown City Camp main tabernacle.

 

Griffith, John - Third caretaker of the campgrounds.

 

Grody, Ester – Sister-in-law to Eugene Sims.

 

Guilliat, G.C. – Father of Arlene wife of Bob Matteson.

 

Huntley, Clarence (Clay) - Second caretaker of the campgrounds.

 

Huffman, J.A. – Served as evangelist in the early years of Brown City Cmp.

 

Jones, Joe - Served as D.S. of Michigan District.

 

Matteson, Homer – Served as D.S. of Michigan District.

Pearson, Bruce – Served as D.S. Michigan District.  

 

Shupe, Mae – One of a few early Ministering Sisters.

 

Sims, Eugene – Pastor and evangelist of prophecy.

 

Surbrook, Eva – One of a few early Ministering Sisters. Served as minister at Lansing and Maple Valley Churches.

 

Surbrook, L.L. – Did most of the shingling of roofs into his late 70's.

 

Tuckey, J.E. – Served as District Superintendent and Brown City Camp chairman. Remember to be in your "place of abode" when the bell rings.

 

Waun, G.G. – Served as D.S. of the North Central District.

 

Witmer, Joseph - Owned the property the original camp purchased and was a member of the search committee to find a suitable location for our camp.

 

Wood, Ira L. – Lead the music at Brown City Camp many of the early years.
