NOTICE CONCERNING LOT DONATIONS

April 27, 2010

Dear Friends of Brown City Camp,

Many of you recently received a mailing concerning your 2010 donations for permanent and temporary lots at the campgrounds     Donations for the lots are due May 1.   We are currently using a new computer program that will ultimately streamline to the process.  Unfortunately, the database used to generate the mailing list contained several old or incorrect addresses.  If you received an invoice that was in error, please note any incorrect information and return it to our office as soon as possible with your payment.     Because of the glitches that have been experienced, we will honor payments made after May 1 without penalty.  However, full payment must be made by June 1 in order to retain your lot.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Michigan District office at 810-742-7462 (michdistmc@aol.com).

We apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced.

Thank you for your understanding in this matter.

Re:  Building, Remodeling, Lot Guidelines & Fees

Dear Camp Family and Friends,

“But as for me, I watch in hope for the Lord, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me.” Micah 7:7 (NIV)

As the prophet struggled with what he could not control, he looked to his Lord for his needs. The Lord, too, has heard our prayers.

The camp board took action on September 14, 2009 to allow the construction of new cabins and remodeling of existing ones. All of the government agencies have agreed with policies that we will use to stay within the law. We feel that the agreement we now have with the DEQ Campground & Pools Division is the best that we could have hoped for and that the help provided by Burnside Township was nothing more than a miracle from our Creator. Praise be to the One who, “… will meet all your needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:19 (NIV)

**Some details that we all should know:

1.      There will be no more mobile homes added to the campgrounds.

2.      If you are interested in building. (Decks, slabs, additions or new cabins)

a.       First you should talk to one of the Building and Grounds Committee.

ü      Kurt Tuckey 989-912-0179

ü      John French 810-531-4950

ü      Charlie Vat 810-346-2480

b.       Plans must be completed and the appropriate guidelines will be provided.

3.      We are in need of your help to fill all lots we currently have.

a.       In 2009 we had 60 families who could not reserve a lot because all were reserved. (A couple days into camp there were several lots empty because the people that reserved them did not arrive.)

b.       Because of the situation stated the camp board has taken action to move the full payment of lot donations to May 1st. By doing this, we hope to have available all lots that are reserved now by people who for any reason have changed plans and are not planning to attend camp.

c.       If you are not planning to use your lot (including permanent lots) please let us know as soon as possible.  We already have a waiting list for 2010.

4.      All camping units must be five (5) feet from lot lines with at least four (4) feet between any units on the same lot. Contact one of the Building and Grounds Committee if you need your lot lines marked.

5.      Permanent camp sites are still limited to 30 days of use per year.

a.       There is a $10.00 per night fee for staying on the campgrounds for any night, other than the nights of family camp.

b.       If you leave your electricity on while not staying on the grounds, there is $1 per day charge.

The camp board thanks you for your positive attitudes during this time of transition and your willingness to wait as we have worked through this long process.
